Marari Beach Resort is the most spacious of Kerala's beach resorts and one of the quietest with its capacious grounds shaded by coconut trees and the sound of the waves beating against the sandy beach.

The bedrooms are all housed in private villas that ar dotted around the grounds and offer privacy to all guests.

The rooms are spacious with large double beds, a separate seating area and a traditional kerala shower room in its own courtyard. There are two restaurants.

One beside the beach that specialises in local fish and the main buffet restaurant beside the swimming pool that serves kerala food and a delicious breakfast underneath the banana leaf roof. Marari originates from "Mararikulam", one of the local fishing villages,

where life still goes on much as it did a hundred years ago, with the men going out to sea each day to earn a living bringing in the daily catch.

Marari Beach Resort is the only resort on this section of coastline and sits on a long 10 mile with only fishing villagers for company. The beach itself is pure sand without any stones.

Indian Government regulations forbid the building of permanent structures within 200 metres of the beach so the resort slowly emerges out of the palm trees as you walk from the beach inland. The first two structures are a cocktail bar -under palm leaves which serves cocktails and beer- and the beach grill that offers grilled fresh fish.

The resort also has a yoga space and an ayurveda centre with a full-time doctor. Each room is a separate cottage with external bathroom and veranda.

The rooms are very spacious and include air conditioning, fridge, but no televisions. The large double beds are high quality and the cottages very quiet and tranquil.

The shower rooms are partly open air and very spacious as well. Note : Marari Beach gets very heavily booked over the Xmas period and in the peak season so please book early with us to ensure confirmed reservations.
